More details are coming out about what may have led up to the murder of a Grady County wife and mother.

Investigators say Holly Miller was found dead inside her Chickasha home on July 8. An affidavit for a search warrant reveals more about what happened that day as Miller’s daughter files a protective order against her mother’s husband.

According to the search warrant, Holly and her husband Justin Miller fought the night before her death and while investigators have not named any suspects, Holly’s daughter says in a petition, that she fears for her and her sister’s safety.

According to the affidavit, around 2 p.m. on July 8, Justin Miller asked a friend to check on his wife because he “could not get a hold of her.”

Court papers show the friend approached the home and the doors were locked so she “took out an air conditioner window” and saw Holly’s body on the floor with a “bruise on one of Holly’s calves.”

When investigators arrived, the friend said Justin told her that he and Holly “ingested cocaine” the night before and “began to fight.” The document shows Justin told the friend he “just snapped” and threw a lamp at the TV, and that Holly fell back and was unconscious, but woke up and they fought again.

“It's very heartbreaking and devastating,” said Holly’s friend Chelsea Riddle last week. “Prayers lots and lots of prayers, the family's going to need it.”

Riddle says her daughter is friends with Holly's younger daughter and the two played basketball under Justin Miller, who is still listed as the athletic director and basketball coach at Friend School.

According to a protective order filed against Justin Miller, Holly's older daughter says her sister is now with their grandparents. In her petition, the daughter claims her stepfather, Justin Miller, is the sole suspect in her mother’s death. However, the FBI says no suspects have been named at this time. The daughter says in the court paper, she fears Miller may harm her or her sister. She said in the court paper, “His comment about coming to see my sister when ‘the cops aren’t around’ leads me to believe he will show up and try to take her as well.”

The FBI is the lead on this investigation, and they don't have a timeline on when or if a suspect will be named.

Meanwhile, a Grady County Judge approves the application filed by Holly Miller’s father, Jack Jerman, making him the special administrator of his daughter’s estate. This would prevent Holly Miller's husband from cremating her, which is against what the family wants.

According to an obituary online, Holly Miller’s funeral is on Wednesday. The family is requesting donations in lieu of flowers to help pay for the funeral expenses. Donations can be sent to McRay Funeral Home in Chickasha.
