As the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic celebrates half a century of service providing healthcare to those in our community, organizers are preparing a day of festivities to commemorate the clinic's 50th anniversary.
Dedicated to providing healthcare to Native Americans in the Oklahoma City metro, the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is hosting its 50th Anniversary Cultural Celebration on Saturday at the First Americans Museum.
The Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch decided to make a visit a day before the festivities begin to see what organizers have planned.
"We're going to have a celebration tomorrow for the community to come out and celebrate with us," Oklahoma City Indian Clinic CEO Robyn Sunday-Allen said. "Because we know we couldn't be here without the entire Oklahoma City Community."
According to the clinic's website, the celebration will feature events ranging from games, activities, a raffle food and live music.
"We just want to celebrate with the entire community, and have everyone come out and take part with the stickball exhibitions," Sunday-Allen said. "We'll have Native American dancers, food vendors, bounce houses, games for the kids... Inclusive for the whole family. I think it'd be a great way to spend the day."
