If you're still looking for a fun yet educational summer activity, a local museum might have you covered.
The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is offering free admission for all visitors throughout the rest the summer, which includes viewing exhibits and participating in various events at the museum.
Established in 1919, the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art has been home to some of Oklahoma's most artistic and innovate art pieces.
Josie Garrard, the curator of education at the museum, sat down with the News 9 team on the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to share the fun.
From June through August, patrons are able to visit the museum completely free and check out some of the cool exhibits that are on display.
"We are very fortunate to be able to actually offer free admission all summer, due to a lot of support from our sponsors," Garrard said.
The museum also hosts workshops and various events throughout the week, which could be used as an opportunity to learn more about the art on display.
"Every Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. we have different events and activities that focus on one specific artist that had some sort-of influential role in art history. It's for all ages, even though we have activities specifically for children, they can come and learn about this particular artist and what they can do if they want to be an artist," Garrard said.
