Former Stanford pitching ace NiJaree Canady has committed to Texas Tech softball.

She announced on social media Wednesday afternoon:

Canady entered the portal on June 17 after leading Stanford to consecutive Women's College World Series appearances, ESPN reports.

ESPN said her NIL agreement with the Red Raiders will reach seven figures annually.

The four-time defending champion OU Softball team was speculated to be in the running for Canady, but the 2024 Pitcher of the Year confirmed she took trips to Tennessee, Alabama, UCLA and Kansas over the past month before going to Lubbock this week, ESPN says.

"I could never have imagined this," Canady told ESPN. "But I feel like we need to invest in women's sports. We saw it with women's basketball this year: You invest in women's sports and women's basketball just blew up on a national stage. I think the same thing has happened with softball. ... If I'm even a little part of that, that's my whole dream."
