Thunder Thursday: New Thunder Girls And O'City Crew Dance Team

The Oklahoma City Thunder has new Thunder Girls and O'City Crew dance team members.

The members for both teams were recently selected and started orientation on Thursday.

OKC Thunder Performance Teams Manager Cristhian Guzman says members must try each year to be on the team.

"No matter if they have been in the team before, they have to audition again." Said Guzman.

Making the team can take months of preparation.

"The prep classes usually start around May or June," said Guzman "The girls and guys are coming in, they're training from the very beginning."

Each team has about 15 members, according to Guzman.

Throughout the year the Thunder Girls and O'City Dance Crew do community events. Many of these dancers aren't from Oklahoma so once they join the team, they learn about a new community.
