Sandy Creek has 17 acres of farm animals in Goldsby.
“Pig, pig was in a bad situation, and she came to live with us,” said Vicki Price of Sandy Creek Carousel
They estimated that close to 40 animals live on the farm and they are all rescue animals. “Three llamas, that’s 25-27 dogs,” said Vicki.
With all the pigs, goats, emus, and llamas, in the front yard, the real treat of this is the animals that aren’t breathing.
“I’ve been riding carousels since I was a little kid in Dallas,” said Vicki.
So, when the opportunity to purchase one came available Vicki and her husband David bought and restored it, but there was one problem.
“You’re going to need a bigger one,” said David Price, Vicki’s husband and partner at Sandy Creek Carousel.
The couple now finds their passion restoring carousels all over the state. “So, all the horses and chariots at Elk City have all new paint jobs on them, so anyone that goes to visit it will see that is what we did,” said Vicki.
Most of the day they are in their separate workshops. “All the horses or animals come in here to be painted,” said Vicki.
David in his workshop rebuilding. “She showed the first one and said can you rebuild it? And I said yeah, probably,” said David.
“If you’ve got a carousel and you want it restored, or if you’re looking to add one to your house, we get them all the time, we sell them all the time,” said Vicki.
After a long day of work, there is only one thing to do: relax. “We ride it every night,” said Vicki.
“It’s the easiest way to shake off whatever has happened during the day,” said David.
