Child And Woman Die After Midwest City House Fire Thursday

A child and woman are dead after a house fire in Midwest City on Thursday morning, according to the Midwest City Fire Department.

The fire department confirmed that fire crews responded to a house fire near North Key Boulevard and South Midwest Boulevard around 9:02 a.m.

Officials were able to make entry into the home, where they found a woman in the hall. Officials say that the woman was transported to a local hospital from the scene, but there is no word on her condition at this time.

Midwest City Fire Department said that officials found a child unresponsive, and after being transported to a local hospital officials learned that he had passed.

Authorities say that officials are investigating, but that there is currently no reason to believe foul play or any mechanical failures were involved.
