Man Dies As A Result Of 2017 Shooting

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner has ruled that a man died in January as a result of a 2017 shooting in northwest Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City Police said in August of 2017, Andre Jones was shot by Jeffrey Garcia but initially survived.

Garcia was sentenced to prison for the shooting.

On January 11, 2024, Jones passed away, and the examiner's office ruled that it was a result of the shooting and, therefore, considered a homicide.

It will be up to the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office to decide whether to add any further charges against Garcia.
