Army veteran Rebecca Martin began he battle with cancer in 2022, but this July she got some devastating news.

"Hearing you've got six months, it's a choice," said Martin.

When things seem grim, Rebecca makes her choice to live.

"You get upset, you get hurt, you cry, you worry about your girls, you worry about your family, you worry about all of it," said Martin. "But what's got me through this is saying 'God's got my number'"

Just days after her diagnosis, Martin decided it was time to make memories that would stand the test of time.

"I think it's kind of like a love note that you leave your family before you go," said Kelly Brown, Owner of Rose Colored Lens Photography.

Brown does bereavement sessions similar to Rebecca Martin's for free.

"Instead of just pretending it doesn't exist and then being devastated when it happens, you sort of embrace what moments you have and start to live a little differently.

Brown's photos of Rebecca and her two daughters have gone viral on Facebook, shining a light into the dark times of strangers.

"This has brought people together and made them think man I need to do this with my family," said Martin.

With a tough journey ahead, Rebecca wants other people to make the right choice and create moments that will last a lifetime.

"It's okay to be mad. It's okay to be hurt. It's okay to feel all that, but you choose to live in that or you choose to live." said Martin. "We never know... take the picture, buy the dress, use the good crystal... enjoy."

Kelly Brown says she hopes to continue supporting families like Rebecca's with bereavement sessions and one day, turn the business into a non-profit.
