The University of Oklahoma football team will begin the 2024 season in the SEC ranked 16th in the US LBM Coaches Poll, according to a release on Monday.
The Sooners enter their third year under head coach Brent Venables.
According to the release, this year is the 25th consecutive year OU has been ranked in the annual preseason coaches poll. The Sooners have been ranked in the top 20 in each of those years.
The Sooners went 10-3 in 2023 and finished No. 15 in the coaches poll. The release stated that the 2024 season begins on Friday, Aug. 30, against Temple at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman. The Sooners will play seven home games.
