Fort Gibson Woman Killed In Cherokee County Crash Identified

The woman killed in a Cherokee County crash on Saturday has been identified.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Mary M. Cole, 55, of Fort Gibson, died in the crash on OK-251A.

OHP said it happened around 4:36 p.m. about 7.5 miles north of Fort Gibson.

Cole was driving east across the dam and did not make the turn at the curve, striking the embankment. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, OHP reports.

Cole was declared dead at the scene.
