An accused murderer's chilling confession was caught on camera by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper. Joseph Beck, 28, was picked up by the trooper in May on the side of a metro interstate. While in the car Beck confessed to the 2016 killing of an Edmond teenager.

The murder suspect described in detail how he killed 19-year-old Kyli Molloy before he was booked into jail.

“I’m not a (expletive) serial killer, but I just always have this premeditation and I just killed one person and it’s still just, it should be enough that you have to be go to jail forever,” said Joseph Beck, murder suspect.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Preston Cox recorded Beck's confession on the ride to the Edmond Police Department. Beck was picked up on the side of the highway and told authorities he wanted to turn himself in for murder.

“It was my right to turn myself in and wrong to murder people,” said Beck. “It’s wrong to murder someone and even if you are mentally ill, it’s still wrong to murder someone and hide behind that.”

Beck told the Trooper he and Molloy were drinking and smoking pot at her Edmond apartment the night of the murder. Beck said he became angry when Molloy spoke to another guy on the phone and asked him to leave.

“While I was choking her, I thought I need to let her go or she’s not going to be able to breathe,” said Beck. “And if I do that she’ll live, and I started to let go and I thought she’ll tell on me.”

Beck said he questioned why he killed his friend.

“When she was dead, I just thought why did I do that to someone I very much love and enjoyed as a person and liked and very much respected,” said Beck.

Beck admitted to leaving the state after the murder and says he confessed his actions to one of his friends at the time.

“There’s not getting away with it,” said Beck. “Eventually you will get caught or you will kill yourself.”

Beck told the Trooper he thought about raping the victim but did not. He admitted to stealing Molloy’s phone and laptop.

Beck was charged with one count of first-degree murder. He is to appear in court on September 20th for a preliminary hearing.
