Putnam City students returned to the classroom today, marking the first day of the new school year with excitement and tradition.

At PC North High School, the annual “Kiss, Cry, Say Goodbye” event welcomed freshmen and their families, setting a festive tone for the year ahead.

Jordan Ryan took the Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to PC North Wednesday morning to see the enthusiasm as students and staff prepared for the day.

The event featured participation from the school’s band and student council, who greeted the new freshmen with a variety of signs, including “Kiss Your Mama Goodbye” and “Welcome to PC North.”

Gemma Watson, a senior involved in the event, explained that it was intended to welcome freshmen and ease their nerves as they navigate a new environment in a fun and exciting way.
