An F16 fighter jet wasn't the only exciting thing at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum on Wednesday.

Miss America, who's also in the Air Force, was also there, talking to kids.

As the first active duty member to win the title of Miss America, Madison Marsh wants to expand people's minds about what young women can accomplish.

“I never went in with the intention of breaking stereotypes,” she said. “I went in because I knew I was passionate about both of those roles, and I wasn't going to let societal bounds really put a cap on what I was able to do and what I was able to achieve, and I want other young women to recognize that in themselves.”

Girls like 11-year-old Mackenzie Miller, who spent her last day before going back to school to meet Madison.

“I have always wanted to be her,” Miller said.

When she's not wearing her crown, Madison is usually in her uniform, fulfilling her service in the Air Force. She says having a platform to inspire the younger generations is a dream come true.

“Women that are really dedicated to giving back to their community, leadership, that service aspect, public speaking, and that is what I knew all the parts of the Air Force that I loved, I could then put it into something outside of it like pageants. If you can impact one person, then you have done your job,” she said.
