Saturday some people took a trip back in time to a special era for race car driving in Tulsa.

About 50 drivers stopped by the SageNet Center to meet with fans and sign a new book by two Tulsans called "The History of Tulsa Fairgrounds Speedway."

Oklahoma's Own Hall of Fame Sprint Car Driver Shane Carson says legends were born at The Tulsa Fairgrounds Speedway.

"We've got guys that ran the Indy 500. Johnny Rutherford is here. He won Indy 500 three times," said Carson "So, plus, you've got guys that have just run around here locally. Emmett Hahn that won the championship in Tulsa many times."

Saturday the book sold out, and work is underway to get it back in stock.

Books will be sold at these locations in Tulsa:

  1. Car & Fleet Parts, 4141 S 68th East Ave, Suite B
  2. Grand Prix Auto Sports Center 4915 E Admiral Pl
