The Tulsa Golden Hurricane are the first Oklahoma school to kick off the new college football season.
They'll face Northwestern State Thursday at Chapman Stadium.
A local product has been named QB-1 for Tulsa. Former Metro Christian star Kirk Francis will be the Golden Hurricane's starting quarterback next Thursday night against Northwestern State.
Head coach Kevin Wilson also said though transfer Cooper Legas and Cardell Williams will both play as well.
So we will see how the rotation shakes out, but Francis will be behind center first. He played in four games last year, starting two of them. Francis played well too, throwing for over 965 yards to go with 6 touchdowns.
The guy can sling the rock there's no doubt after throwing for almost 96 hundred yards in high school. Now Francis is excited to lead the Golden Hurricane.
“It is really exciting. You grow up in Tulsa and think about leading your hometown team. I feel like I’ve been in a quarterback competition my whole life. You have to earn it every single day,” Francis said.
Taking care of the football will be key to which quarterback plays the most going forward, and Francis gets the first chance to impress.
