Blanchard Man Drowns After Rescuing Child In Sulphur

A Blanchard man drowned while helping his grandchild in Rock Creek.

It happened at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, officials say.

Investigators said Randy Hicks was helping the child who was struggling to swim.

He saved the child but he went underwater, later dying at the hospital.
