TU Hosting Northwestern State In Home Opener

College football returns Thursday night as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane kicks off the season against Northwestern State.

TU will have a former Tulsa High School football standout start as quarterback Thursday night.

Kirk Francis will take the first snap for TU, and the coaches said he had a fantastic fall camp to get the honor, but a big focal point going into this home opener was actually how last year's home opener went.

Last year, the season didn't start out great for TU. However, they did go on to win the game and three others to end the season with four wins total.

That's in the past. This season, Kevin Wilson wants this team to be more polished, especially right out of the gate.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. All three quarterbacks will see the field, with Kirk Francis, a former Metro Christian standout, going first.
