Just Between Friends To Host Community Wide Baby Shower 'Bumps And Babies'

Starting today the nation's largest children's consignment sale is hosting a community-wide baby shower. It's called "Bumps and Babies" and it's the first baby shower event put on by 'Just Between Friends' here in Tulsa.

Just Between Friends is launching its latest consignment sale as the seasons change and the holidays get closer.

New this year, Just Between Friends is offering a community baby shower for new moms. It’s all happening at the Ruffin Event Center near 71st and Lewis. From clothes, shoes, toys, books, and Halloween costumes, there are thousands of items for families to sift through.

Clothes in every size, for every season, and every budget. Just Between Friends offers aisle after aisle packed with clothes for kiddos, with many deals, organizers say, 50-90% below retail value.

“Everybody knows kids are expensive, especially if you have, " Claire DeLay said.

DeLay is shopping for her five-year-old, JT, and eight-month-old, Avie.

“We just actually moved back from Florida, so we have no fall and winter clothes,” DeLay said. “So I'm really excited to get some winter coats for my kids.”

She's ready for more savings after her success shopping here before.

“I came last year when I was really pregnant, and I got a brand-new car seat, it had never been used, and I'm still using it for my eight-month-old,” DeLay said.

“You hear a lot of kids, 'Mom, can I have? Mom, can I have?' And they're able to say yes because it's affordable,” Director of Operations Angie Crone said.

Crone said the event is about more than the deals — they want to make sure new moms feel prepared.

“For the strollers and stuff like that, we get to show them how to break those down, how to strap them, how to take them apart, how to load them in their cars,” Crone said.

Crone said this year's Community Baby Shower means 15 vendors have a little something extra for expectant mothers.

“A nice little gift, you know something free, just a perk for them because you know, having kids is expensive,” Crone said.

The event lasts through the weekend, and shoppers are encouraged to visit the Just Between Friends website to learn the specific hours for each day.
