The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) have provided details on several traffic advisories for the Tulsa area and surrounding regions.

Here's what you need to know:

I-244 narrows to one lane at US-75 junction Wednesday night

Eastbound I-244 will be narrowed to one lane at the junction with US-75 from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday for traffic realignment and barrier wall placement.

I-244 closed between I-44, US-75; I-244/US-75 narrow in West Tulsa

A pavement rehabilitation project on I-244 between I-44 and the Arkansas River bridge in West Tulsa continues through spring 2025. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction between the US-75 split and the Arkansas River during peak travel times.

SH-51/BA Expwy narrows to one lane between 145th E. Ave. and 129th E. Ave. Wednesday night

Westbound SH-51/Broken Arrow Expwy will be narrowed to one lane between 145th E. Ave. and 129th E. Ave. from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday for surface work.

I-244 off-ramp at 1st St. (NE corner IDL) narrows daily through Sept. 27

The westbound I-244 off-ramp to 1st St. (northeast corner of the Inner Dispersal Loop) will be narrowed to one lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Friday, Sept. 27, for ongoing bridge rehabilitation.

SH-11 narrows to one lane at Harvard Ave. Thursday

Eastbound SH-11 will be narrowed to one lane at Harvard Ave. from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday for surface repairs.

I-44/Turner Turnpike narrows to one lane near Bristow Wednesday night

Eastbound I-44/Turner Turnpike will be narrowed to one lane from mile marker 197-200 just east of Bristow from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday for barrier wall repairs. The Bristow ramps will remain open.

I-44/Turner Turnpike shoulder closures near Heyburn through fall

Motorists should expect shoulder closures on the I-44/Turner Turnpike between mile markers 201-203 near Heyburn in Creek County through fall as widening work begins. Reduced speed limits are in effect throughout the 6-mile work zone toward Bristow.

I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike narrows to one lane near Claremore nightly through Wednesday

I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike will be narrowed to one lane in each direction between mile markers 250-253 near Claremore from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday for bridge work.

I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike narrows near Vinita Wednesday night

Eastbound I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike will be narrowed to one lane at mile marker 289 near Vinita from 8 p.m. Wednesday to noon Thursday for bridge repairs.

Creek Turnpike narrows between Elm St. and Memorial Dr. daily through Friday

The left lane of eastbound SH-364/Creek Turnpike will be closed intermittently between Elm St. and Memorial Dr. from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Friday for lighting repairs.

I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike narrows to one lane east of Miami Thursday

The westbound I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike will be narrowed to one lane between mile markers 316-314, just east of Miami, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday for surface repairs.

Muskogee Turnpike narrows at US-69 near Muskogee Thursday through Friday

Eastbound SH-351/Muskogee Turnpike will be narrowed to one lane at the US-69 interchange near Muskogee from 8 a.m. Thursday through 3 p.m. Friday for surface repairs. The US-69 ramps will remain open.

SH-66 in Wellston closed as part of I-44/Turner Turnpike bridge widening project

Both directions of SH-66 will be closed at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, between the off-ramps for the I-44/Turner Turnpike (mile marker 158) in Wellston for up to a year. This closure is between SH-102 and US-177 in Lincoln County.

Ongoing Highway Construction Projects

I-244 closed between I-44, US-75

The pavement rehabilitation project on I-244 between I-44 and the Arkansas River in West Tulsa continues through spring 2025. Key impacts include:

  1. All eastbound lanes and on-ramps of I-244 between I-44 (mm 1A) and US-75 (mm 2) are closed through September 2024.
  2. Motorists can detour using eastbound I-44 to northbound US-75.
  3. All westbound lanes and on-ramps between US-75 and I-44 are closed through spring 2025.
  4. Local access to 40th Pl./Southwest Blvd. is maintained.
  5. Westbound I-244/southbound US-75 off-ramp to 23rd St. is closed.
  6. 48th St. is closed at Southwest Blvd.


US-75 bridge construction at 141st St. in Glenpool through summer 2025

Expect narrowed and shifted lanes on US-75 at 141st St. in Glenpool, with a reduced speed limit. Two lanes of traffic will remain open during peak hours throughout construction.
