Students, faculty, and staff at Tulsa Community College are raising awareness for Alzheimer's disease.
The TCC Southeast Campus planted more than 1700 pinwheel flowers on Wednesday behind the Student Success Center.
Each pinwheel represents the estimated number of Oklahomans who lose their battle with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia each year.
Students at the Metro Campus will "Chalk the Walk" with flowers on the sidewalk around campus on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Both campuses will feature education stations about the flower garden and resources available through the Alzheimer's Association.
Everyone on all TCC campuses is encouraged to wear purple throughout the week to honor and raise awareness.
The annual Walk to End Alzheimer's is on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7:30 a.m. at Dream Keepers Park.
