The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) have provided details on several Tulsa and surrounding regions' traffic advisories.

Oklahoma Traffic Updates: Construction and Lane Closures

US-75 Lane Closures in Glenpool

  1. Thursday: Southbound US-75 narrowed to one lane at 141st St. from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  2. Friday: Northbound US-75 narrowed to one lane at 141st St. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  3. Ongoing Construction: US-75 bridge work at 141st St. will continue through summer 2025, with shifted lanes and reduced speed limits.

US-412 Ramp Closure in Sand Springs

  1. Thursday: Eastbound US-412 on-ramp from 81st W. Ave. closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage work.

Turner Turnpike Lane Shifts in Wellston

  1. Thursday Night: Eastbound I-44/Turner Turnpike narrows to one lane at SH-66 near Wellston (mm 157-158) from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday.
  2. Long-Term Impact: Both eastbound and westbound lanes on I-44 will remain on a temporary detour through summer 2025 due to bridge reconstruction. The SH-66 off-ramps will remain open, but SH-66 itself is closed in both directions between SH-102 and US-177 for up to a year.

Muskogee Turnpike Narrowing Near SH-165

  1. Ongoing through Sunday: Westbound SH-351/Muskogee Turnpike narrows to one lane near mm 41 just south of SH-165/Peak Blvd. for surface repairs, ending at 5 p.m. Sunday.

I-44/Turnpike Shoulder Closures Near Heyburn

  1. Ongoing through Fall: Shoulder closures between mm 201-203 on the I-44/Turner Turnpike near Heyburn in Creek County are in place while crews work to widen the turnpike to six lanes. Narrow lanes and reduced speed limits will remain until the project is completed. SH-66 near this section will also experience intermittent narrowing, and W. 211th St. will remain closed for bridge construction until summer 2025.

Ongoing Highway Projects

I-244 Construction in West Tulsa

  1. Ongoing through Spring 2025: Pavement rehabilitation continues on I-244 between I-44 and the Arkansas River bridge in West Tulsa. Two lanes of traffic remain open in each direction during peak hours. However, major closures are in effect:
  2. All westbound I-244 lanes and on-ramps are closed between US-75 (mm 2) and I-44 (mm 1A).
  3. I-244 is narrowed to two lanes in both directions between US-75 and the Arkansas River bridge.
  4. Several ramps connecting I-244 and US-75 are closed, including:
  5. Westbound I-244/southbound US-75 off-ramps at 21st St. and 23rd St.
  6. The westbound I-244/southbound US-75 on-ramp from Southwest Blvd.
  7. 48th St. remains closed at Southwest Blvd.

I-244 Near US-75 (IDL)

  1. Ongoing through Fall: East and westbound I-244 will be narrowed to one lane at the US-75 junction on the northeast corner of the Inner Dispersal Loop (IDL) for bridge rehabilitation.

US-75 Off-Ramp Closure

  1. Ongoing through Fall 2024: Northbound US-75 off-ramp to 7th St. (east leg of IDL) is closed for bridge rehabilitation.

Street Widening at 33rd W. Ave. and I-44

  1. Ongoing through Fall 2024: A street widening project is underway to expand 33rd W. Ave. to five lanes under I-44 and repave the westbound I-44 on- and off-ramps. Current impacts include the closure of westbound Skelly Dr. at 33rd W. Ave.

Bridge Rehabilitation on US-412 in Sand Springs

  1. Ongoing through February 2025: US-412 is narrowed to two lanes in each direction at 81st W. Ave. for a bridge rehabilitation project. Additionally, 81st W. Ave. is reduced to one lane in both directions.

SH-97 Pavement Rehabilitation in Sand Springs

  1. Ongoing through Spring 2025: Reconstruction of SH-97 from S. Main St. to W. 2nd St. continues. Two lanes will remain open in both directions during peak hours. Center turn lanes at US-412 are closed, though access to US-412 remains open.

Intersection Improvements at SH-51 and 91st St. in Broken Arrow

  1. Ongoing through Fall 2024: Intersection improvement work continues with a speed reduction in place.
