Happy Week 4 of high school football! District play is here, and what a way to start with games that determine if Green Country teams make the playoffs down the road.

In 6A-1, powerhouse programs Jenks and Bixby collided in Spartan country. Bixby has won six of the last seven meetings, but the Trojans snapped the Spartans' 58-game winning streak on their home field in 2022. As you might have guessed, it’s our Tulsa Tech Game of the Week.

There's a lot on the line in this matchup. Both coaches said the winner of this game could very well be the district champion and host the first round of the playoffs. That’s how significant this first week of the games that matter is for them.

The Spartans had a home-field advantage. In the second quarter, Owen Jones rolled out to his right and found Jack McInelly for the touchdown. The Trojans got on the board first, 7-0.

On Bixby’s next possession, Parker Cooper's QB keeper, with under two minutes to go in the half, broke a few tackles and took it to the house.

In the third quarter, Parker Cooper again kept it at the two-yard line and stumbled in for the touchdown, making it 14-7 Bixby.

In the fourth, Matthew Kohnstam faked the handoff and scored. Bixby took it, 21-7.
