Thousands of Oklahomans are frustrated after pre-sale tickets for two of The Boys from Oklahoma shows sold out, with some people never making it out of the online waiting room.

Initially scheduled for one night, the concert added a second show after more than 100,000 people pre-registered for tickets. Now, two more shows have been added due to high demand.

JoAnn Prim, who waited four hours online without securing tickets, is hoping to get some for the additional concerts.

“Whenever I did that, I sat in the queue forever... four hours later nothing... all tickets were sold out and I was crushed,” said Prim.

The Boys from Oklahoma concert will feature several bands, including Cross Canadian Ragweed, which hasn’t performed together in over a decade.

When the event was announced, Prim and her family knew they wanted to attend.

“I've listened to them forever... it's been 15 years and they’re Oklahoma, you know, you have to have your CCR,” she said.

Tanner Messer with Big Country 99.5 compared the demand for the concert to when Garth Brooks performed in Tulsa.

“I mean, he played seven shows at the BOK Center. I’m not sure what the capacity is at Boone Pickens Stadium versus the BOK Center, but I think it’s comparable to that magnitude,” said Messer.

Prim voiced concerns over third-party sellers and scalpers potentially buying up many of the tickets.

“We work hard for our tickets... I don’t think it’s right they’ll be able to get them from a third-party place at all,” she said.

Pre-sale for the added shows, scheduled for April 10 and April 13 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, begins Tuesday at noon.
