Inola pastor Roy Shoop testified in his trial on Tuesday, where he faces eight counts of lewd or indecent acts involving several girls.

Investigators say Shoop knew the girls because they took horse training lessons from him and worked on his ranch.

During his testimony at the Rogers County courthouse, Shoop became emotional while being questioned by his attorney.

He said his home has been filled with adults and children over the years, often during difficult times.

Shoop told the jury he believed the girls were fabricating the allegations.

One of the victims, who had lived with Shoop and his wife, accused him of inappropriately touching her in bed. Shoop denied the accusation, stating it was not in his character.

He also denied any inappropriate contact with four other victims, who reported being touched during horse riding lessons or while staying at his home.

Shoop's wife and daughter testified, saying they never saw him touch any of the girls inappropriately.

Prosecutors began their cross-examination just before the day ended. They will continue questioning Shoop on Wednesday.

A large crowd of Shoop's supporters attended the trial and prayed with him after the court adjourned for the day.
