Nearly 400 PSO workers are headed to Florida to help restore power after Hurricane Milton makes landfall.

PSO says 380 workers and contractors departed around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday to assist Tampa Electric and Florida Power and Light.

Once the storm hits, the crews will receive their assignments to restore power in the affected communities.

This deployment comes just one day after PSO crews returned from helping restore power to thousands of customers impacted by Hurricane Helene in Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee.

The team includes line crews, servicers, tree trimmers, fleet mechanics, and other personnel.

The National Weather Service says Hurricane Milton could be a once-in-a-century storm, with a storm surge of at least 10 feet.

There is no set timeframe for how long PSO crews will remain in Florida.
