Students from Frances Tuttle Technology Center and Piedmont Police are searching for Ferb, a missing exotic turtle.
Ferb's unexpected disappearance has led to a wave of support, and dropping temperatures make the search even more urgent.
The students are using drones to track down the critter. Francis Tuttle and technology instructor Christopher Guarnera explained drone technology.
"The reason why Lidar is a very advanced sensor where we're able to essentially see through the vegetation. Given that Ferb is out there, we are able to utilize that advanced technology and find out where our friend is," Guarnera said.
The owner said Ferb is small enough to fit in the size of his hand.
There is a 500-dollar reward for anyone who can reunite Ferb with his owner and his brother Phineas
