Two little girls are making a public plea for their lost dog, Echo.
“So we're just passing out lemonade for free, giving out flyers. As long as you take a flyer, you can have some lemonade from us,” said Becca Moore, the girls' mom.
“I'm feeling pretty sad because I want to see him and I kind of miss him a lot and we really want him back,” said Gemma Moore.
Their dog, Echo, is a 3-year-old German Shorthair pointer and Weimaraner mix.
He jumped the fence on Tuesday near 81st and Harvard and the family has been frantically looking for him ever since.
“My girls just kept asking to do a lemonade stand, and finally I just gave in. And it's actually been like one of the more positive, hopeful things we've done this entire time,” said Becca.
Becca has been posting on social media and got a tip that a man picked up a dog matching Echo's description at that same intersection.
“We just are trying to find a way to connect with that person,” said Becca.
The family hopes he lives or works in the area and will see the flyers. Becca says Echo isn't chipped, which she's worried could prevent someone from returning him.
“We've had a hard time dealing with Echo being gone. We just, you know my son is a baby, and he walks through the hallways asking for “Eggo” and doesn't know where he's at. And the girls are just pretty torn up about it.” said Becca.
Every visitor to the stand was another person they hope will keep an eye out for Echo.
“He's a member of our family. We love Echo. “ said Becca” He's just like the best dog in the entire world. And our world has not been the same without him.”
