McIntosh County Man Found Guilty Of 2013 Murder

A federal jury found a McIntosh County man guilty of murdering a Checotah woman in 2013.

Investigators say David Martin beat Jennifer Kitchens with a metal rod and stabbed her repeatedly. They say Kitchens had more than 100 separate injuries.

Investigators found Martin's DNA on Kitchens' steering wheel, as well as mixed with the victim's blood on the front door of the home.

A McIntosh County jury convicted him of murder, but that conviction was overturned by a Supreme Court ruling on tribal jurisdiction. A federal jury reconvicted Martin of murder this month.
