The Turrelle Sisters, known for their performances as The Sanderson Sisters from "Hocus Pocus" at The Queen's Dirty Dozens in Brookside, are bringing their act to The Colony bar with a special Halloween Bingo event.

Josie Lee, Sasha, and Maxine Turrelle will host the 21+ event at The Colony on Saturday at 6 p.m. There will be a $5 door cover, but bingo itself is free. This marks the sisters' first time hosting drag bingo as The Sanderson Sisters and their first event at The Colony, a historic music venue and bar that has been part of Tulsa's scene since 1958.

Later in the month, on Saturday, Oct. 26, the trio will perform at The District Bar and Grill in Owasso. There, they will host the Turrelle Sisters Halloween Show, which includes a Halloween costume contest. The best costume will win a $100 cash prize and two VIP tickets to The Hex House.

The Turrelle Sisters have been performing as The Sanderson Sisters for three years, and their shows have become a hit among "Hocus Pocus" fans. The 1993 film, which stars Bette Midler, Cathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker, has gained a dedicated following across generations. The trio attributes the film’s continued success to its iconic cast and timeless appeal, with even children in 2024 familiar with the Sanderson Sisters.

They emphasize that a common misconception about drag performers is the belief that they seek to "recruit" individuals into the LGBTQIA+ community. They explain that drag artists are entertainers, and anyone—regardless of age, gender, or orientation—can participate in drag performances.

"When kids see us as The Sanderson sisters, they do not care what gender we are," the sisters said. "They see their favorite characters in person and that gives them joy as if they were in Disneyland."

Attendees at the upcoming events can expect fun-filled evenings with plenty of opportunities for photos with The Sanderson Sisters and their cast.
