Man In Custody After Leading Tulsa Police On Chase

A man is in custody after leading officers on a chase Wednesday night near 21st Street and Sheridan Road.

Police said the suspect, Pedro Yanez, lost control of his car around 10 p.m., snapping a telephone pole and damaging a bus stop before abandoning the vehicle.

Yanez attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by officers.

One officer sustained a foot injury during the chase and was checked out at a local hospital. Officers said Yanez hasn't been booked yet because he is in the hospital with a head injury.

PSO and Cox Communications crews assisted in clearing the downed wires from the road.
