An Owasso woman is bringing Halloween spirit to her neighborhood with unique decorations inspired by the classic 1988 movie "Beetlejuice".
Myretta Ballou, an artist, designed a Beetlejuice-themed front yard inspired by her love for the iconic film starring Michael Keaton.
“I knew I wanted to create something. I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember," said Myretta Ballou.
She began crafting her display in August, drawing on her passion for the movie, which has seen renewed popularity with the release of the sequel, "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice".
Ballou says the response from the community has been incredibly positive. “A lot of people stop by and wave and even approach me and tell me how much they love it.”
Her yard, located at the corner of North 122nd East Avenue and East 81st Place North, features custom-made pieces, eerie lights, and signs that pay homage to the movie's distinctive style.
Ballou’s Beetlejuice-themed display will remain up through Nov. 9, inviting visitors to stop by and enjoy a bit of Halloween magic even after the holiday.
She also plans to dress up as Beetlejuice, adding a twist to her Halloween festivities.
