Severe storms left over 40,000 PSO customers without power across Tulsa and surrounding counties on Sunday after damaging storms overnight.

As of 2:30 p.m., restoration efforts have been restored to all but 1,700 customers, according to the PSO outage map.

Many residents woke up to find downed power lines, scattered debris, and significant damage from fallen trees blocking roadways.

Tulsa Police have closed part of Riverside Drive near 41st Street due to a large tree brought down by heavy wind and rain. Police are directing traffic away from the area.

While no injuries have been reported from the storm, forecasters warn of possible additional rain and minor flooding throughout the day.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution, as high water could impact some roadways.
