Oklahoma and Missouri will meet for the first time in over 10 years on Saturday in Columbia as members of the SEC. There is a long history between the two dating back multiple decades.

Even though the teams haven't played each other in a while, that doesn't mean things haven't been interesting between the two sides.

Recruiting has helped shape the rivalry between these two as well as the transfer portal. Multiple players including Theo Wease and offensive lineman Cayden Green transferred out out of Norman only to land at Mizzou.

JJ Hester went in the opposite direction and is now OU’s leading receiver on the season.

“It’s not spicy for me,” Venables said. “Recruiting is incredibly competitive, winning is incredibly hard. We’re programs that, certainly there’s a familiarity. But I don’t think Eli was on staff for any of the past Oklahoma-Missouri meetings and what happens in the past doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with what happens in the future. Good or bad.”

You can listen to the entire Brent Venables press conference above. Kickoff Saturday is set for 6:45
