A Tulsa woman is devastated and asking for help after she lost everything in a house fire.

She says the fire was caused by a faulty electrical wire behind her dryer and now they’re scrambling to find a place to live.

Joann Beach says it happened so fast, and now she’s terrified something like this will happen again.

Beach and her family were watching football Monday night when they heard a crackling noise and at first, thought it was a tree branch.

"My husband went out back to go see, we've had all these storms, we've been having to trim trees, so that's all we thought it was,” said Beach. “The next thing I know, he's coming, running in, screaming get out, the house is on fire."

She says the fire raced through the house, despite their best efforts.

"We got the water hose, my husband was trying to squirt the house the best he could,” said Beach. “When we realized that it was too far out of control, my camper was sitting right out front, so he just took the water hose and focused on keeping it off of the camper."

Beach says the fire started because of an issue with an electrical wire on the dryer.

"I hadn't used that dryer since like 10 o'clock that morning,” said Beach. “I don't know if it smoldered all day, or what all of a sudden caused that wire to just glitch out on me, I don't know."

Everyone made it out, except her cat Rhea who is still missing.

She believes Rhea is still alive because her GPS collar is pinging.

Now, she’s left wondering where to start.

"I'm a very prideful person; this is very hard for me to even do this, but anything right now, we're not in good shape right now,” said Beach.

She has faith that they will rebuild.

"I'm going to be optimistic, and I'm going to start over with a fresh start,” said Beach.

Beach hopes now someone will find Rhea or she will come home.

Her cousin started a GoFundMe page for her, and you can find a link to that here.
