Claremore Public Schools is taking advantage of a free tool to make sure students can get the help they need on their school work at any time.
It's a 24/7 teaching tool called Varsity Tutors that is provided by the State Department of Education at no cost. Claremore Public Schools has been using the tool for about two semesters now, and the district said it provides students with academic help when they are outside the classroom.
When the school day ends, teachers may not always be available to answer questions or help students with an assignment. With this tool, a Claremore student can access it at any time to get help.
Claremore Public Schools' executive director of student services, Dawn Nipps said this is just another tool they wanted to give their students so they could be academically successful.
"The ultimate goal always is for a student to be successful in the classroom, and so these are just one of the tools that we are able to put in the hands of our parents and students so they can use it outside of the classroom if a teacher is not available," Nipps said.
Students can get help in many different areas. This includes ACT prep, essay review, and 24/7 chat students can use to get extra help.
Nipps said students can use this tool from pretty much anywhere at any time. This includes using it on their phones if needed.
