The City of Broken Arrow is kicking off the most wonderful time of the year on Thursday, Nov. 14th.
Christmas in Broken Arrow is like a scene from a holiday movie with festive activities planned throughout the night.
"Thursday is our kickoff into the season so there is just more to come after that," said the city's Marketing & Communications Coordinator Erin Hofener. "We have the horse-drawn carriage rides popping up all the time and those are free to ride throughout the Rose District, Victorian carolers will pop up."
The night begins with the annual tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m.
"I love the tree lighting ceremony. It is so much fun," Hofener continued saying, "We have our councilmembers speak a little bit before it happens, then the tree comes on; everyone is so excited, and then we have Grady Nichols playing right after."
Families can also take free photos with Santa Claus, do some holiday shopping at the craft show, and rent ice skates at the BA Ice Rink.
The light poles and storefronts along Main Street are even adorned with holiday decorations. It gives a city of nearly 120,000 people more of a small-town charm.
"That is what people love about Broken Arrow," said Hofener. "They can have that big city amenity but still feel like it is a place they can call home."
