Thanksgiving dinner may cost less this year, with grocery bills showing the lowest prices in years for some staples.

Prices for soft drinks, bacon, bread, cheddar cheese, and milk have stabilized.

Shoppers will pay slightly more for cranberries and wine, but green beans, pumpkins, and turkey are cheaper this year.

A whole turkey is around $1 per pound—16% less than last year and the lowest price in five years.

Experts suggest saving even more by opting for frozen over fresh vegetables, choosing store brands, and considering buying a whole pie rather than pie-making ingredients.

For recipes calling for unusual ingredients, skipping expensive, seldom-used items like $5 jars of spices can also help trim costs.

Enjoy a budget-friendly Thanksgiving!
