BMX riders from over a dozen schools across Green Country gathered at the Hardesty National BMX Stadium for a school showcase race Thursday evening.

The event featured competitors from schools like Sand Springs and Booker T. Washington, showcasing a growing interest in BMX racing across the region. Teams now range from elementary through high school levels, reflecting the sport's increasing popularity.

"We're one of the only sports where you can come on this track and be three years old and literally in the next hour the Olympians are going to be on the same track, going doing their race,” said Shane Fernandez of USA BMX.

The Hardesty facility, located near Archer and Lansing, offers programs for riders of all ages to learn and practice the sport.
