The Myriad Botanical Gardens in Oklahoma City are preparing for two big celebrations in January.
Myriad Botanical Gardens Chief Marketing Officer Stacey Aldridge joined the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to share more about what to expect.
"We do have a couple of big things coming up, we were just chatting about Tasty Tuesdays that we just started with our education department," Aldridge said. "On Tuesday mornings, kids of all ages can come out and make little treats from items that are grown inside the conservatory."
In addition to weekly events, Aldridge said two big events are coming later in January.
"We [will have] Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration day on Monday, Jan. 20, from 10 to one, that will be inside the Crystal Bridge visitor lobby," Aldridge said. "We'll have an art exhibit and performances, and a recitation of the 'I Have A Dream' speech. Then on Saturday, Jan. 25, we have Lunar New Year."
The Lunar New Year officially begins on Wednesday, Jan. 29, but the festivities will be set for the weekend prior.
Aldridge said the MLK Day celebration will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., while the Lunar New Year festivities are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., on their respective days.
