Oklahoma City road crews are working tirelessly to clear snow and ice from streets following heavy snowfall, with trucks continuously refilling salt supplies and treating major snow routes.

News 9's Jennifer Pierce, reporting from the city’s salt barn, noted a steady flow of trucks being loaded with salt, highlighting the city’s ongoing efforts to ensure safer driving conditions.

Crews pre-treated roads with beet juice before the storm, plowed during the snowfall, and are now salting roads to address lingering hazards.

Street Superintendent Chris Daniels urged drivers to exercise caution, slow down, and give snowplows ample space to operate.

"They'll be working 24/7 until we get these emergency snow routes cleared," Daniels said.

With 8,000 streets in Oklahoma City, the city prioritizes designated snow routes, which can be viewed at OKC.gov.
