Deadline Approaches As Petitioners Call For Investigation Into Oklahoma Human Services

Critics of Oklahoma's Department of Human Services have until Monday night to deliver the 5,000 signatures needed to call for a grand jury investigation into the agency.

Activists launched a statewide effort in October, claiming the agency failed to protect children from abuse.

The department previously said it is an advocate for transparency and would cooperate with any investigation.

Organizations such as the Oklahoma State NAACP worked to gather signatures ahead of the deadline, although it is unknown how many have signed on.
