A forensic audit has revealed over three decades of financial mismanagement and other serious issues in the City of Yukon, according to a report released by North American Forensic Accounting.
The audit claims that former city leaders failed to investigate "significant concerns and allegations."

The almost 90-page audit states that former city officials were aware of and dismissed allegations of sexual misconduct and inappropriate relationships on city property—on city time.
Some of the allegations were described as so severe that they were deemed "too inappropriate to publicly publish."
The audit further states that "senior management [failed] to lead by example by transmitting hardcore pornographic materials to city employees via city email."
The audit also includes a 2020 email from former Mayor Shelbi Selby, who chose to close a file of sexual misconduct allegations, citing a lack of supporting evidence.
In the email, Selby wrote,
"I will not authorize a full investigation and expose the City's valuable, hardworking employees to public humiliation, embarrassment, and criticisms that could and would result."
Current Yukon Mayor Brian Pillmore responded to the findings in a statement Wednesday morning, saying that current administrators are building "a culture of integrity, accountability, and transparency."
He added, "Transparency is not always comfortable, but it is essential."

The audit warns that there is "no quick fix" for many of the issues it uncovered, particularly concerning the city’s organizational culture.
News 9 will continue investigating the findings of this forensic audit.
While forensic audit results can be used as evidence in legal proceedings, as of Thursday morning, there has been no indication of legal action being taken.
