Former Oklahoma State University guard Cade Cunningham has earned his first NBA All-Star selection.
The 23-year-old Detroit Pistons standout was named one of 14 reserves for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, as announced by the league’s coaches on Thursday.
Cunningham became the first Oklahoma State player to make the All-Star game since 1994, when John Starks represented the New York Knicks.
Cunningham had a standout lone season at Oklahoma State in 2021, earning Big 12 Player of the Year honors, National Freshman of the Year, and a spot on the consensus First-Team All-American list. He averaged 20.1 points per game and led the Cowboys to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
After being named to the NBA’s All-Rookie team in 2022, Cunningham battled injuries in his next two seasons. He’s having a breakout fourth year, averaging a career-high 25.0 points and 9.3 assists per game, ranking third in the league in assists.
The 2025 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. CT at the Chase Center in San Francisco and will be broadcast on TNT.
