Movie Man: 4 films in theaters this weekend

This weekend, four new films, offer something for every type of moviegoer. News 9's Movie Man Dino Lalli previews what you can expect to see in theatres.

Valiant One is an R-rated military action-thriller. The story follows a group of non-combat Army tech specialists who find themselves fighting for survival after their helicopter crashes in North Korean territory. The group must escort a civilian specialist across the demilitarized zone while evading enemy forces.

Green and Gold stars Craig T. Nelson as Buck, a struggling dairy farmer who gambles his family’s century-old farm on the Green Bay Packers winning the Super Bowl. The film also features rising star Madison Lawlor as Jenny, Buck’s granddaughter, torn between saving the farm and pursuing her music career. Green and Gold is rated PG.

Companion is an R-rated thriller with a twist on the cabin-in-the-woods getaway genre. Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid star in this film about a group of friends whose weekend retreat takes a dark turn when they discover one of their group is actually a companion robot.

For families, Dog Man offers an animated adventure based on the popular graphic novels by Dav Pilkey, the author behind Captain Underpants. The PG-rated film follows a human police officer and his dog, who are fused together in a life-saving surgery after being injured on the job. Together, they must stop the evil plans of Petey the Cat.
