A metro pursuit that ended in a crash in southwest Oklahoma City spanned seven miles.
On Saturday, Tyreese Ford fled from deputies and managed to get away after the pursuit was terminated, according to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office.
But on Monday, Ford’s luck ran out after investigators spotted him for a second time.
Deputies: Get on the [expletive] ground! Don't move! Don't move!
The sound of approaching sirens from Monday's pursuit was caught on camera as a white car that was followed by a caravan of officers zipped through an OKC neighborhood.
“We believe he was intentionally driving through neighborhoods-- trying to elude our deputies,” said Aaron Brilbeck with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office.
With a passenger by his side---investigators say Tyreese Ford led the chase that topped out at 90 miles an hour.
“At one point he sideswiped a vehicle. Leaving that vehicle behind we continued the pursuit. Every moment of the pursuit our deputies were considering whether or not to terminate it,” said Brilbeck.
The chase ended just minutes later --at an intersection near Southwest 29th and Council where Ford collided with a pickup.
“This guy proved to be extraordinarily dangerous, with zero regard for life and for safety,” said Brilbeck.
Deputy: Down! Down! Down!
Ford was tased while attempting to run.
Ford: I didn't do nothing! Why you tasing me for?!
Deputy: You know exactly bro.
With the intersection littered with debris, officers placed Ford in handcuffs as they surveyed the area for possible injuries.
Deputy: Do you know how many lives you endangered?!
Ford: No, sir.
Deputy: Is this person okay, that's in the seat? You better hope that person's okay.
Buried under deployed airbags, Ford's girlfriend and passenger are helped out of what's left of her new car.
Deputy: Is it registered to you?
Passenger: Not yet, it's only a few weeks old.
Deputy: Well, he tore it up, didn't he?
No one was hurt in Monday’s crash.
Ford was jailed on a string of charges. Court filings show he had two outstanding felony warrants related to burglaries in 2023.
