Authorities respond to 2 fires along West Reno Avenue

Authorities responded to two separate fires along West Reno Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the fires were close to each other but not connected.

A fire captain said both fires occurred at homeless encampments and remain under investigation.

The fires were reported along the West River Trail near Larry McAfee Park, which connects to the Lake Overholser Trail.

Authorites said the fires are contained, and crews were working to extinguish remaining hot spots.
