Oklahomans are expected to gather in Oklahoma City on Sunday to honor Jocelynn Rojo Carranza, an 11-year-old Texas girl who died by suicide after being bullied over her parents’ immigration status.

Carranza’s mother found her unresponsive earlier this month in their Gainesville home. Now, with permission from her father, an Oklahoma City man has organized a candlelight vigil in her memory.

The vigil will take place at 5 p.m. at Wiley Post Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring candles and Mexican flags.

News 9’s Stephanie Maniche will be there speaking with those in attendance.
