Oklahoma author Rick Taylor has released his new book, "The Ultimate Truth: Echoes of the Past," which is the second part of his "Ultimate Truth" series. The novel takes place in Manhattan, and features an ominous atmosphere followed by a catastrophic weather event.
News 9 was joined by Taylor on Sunday morning to dive into what his novel is about, both narratively and personally.
"Just over a few hours, the weather turns really, really bad," Taylor said, evoking images of the extreme weather in Oklahoma. "And so Jonathan, Dr. Avery, is chasing his wife through the streets trying to find her because she went to the market."
However, the novel takes a turn once the team is reunited because it is revealed that they are being tracked and hunted by the government. Taylor also notes the inclusion of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) to play a major role in the plot.
Taylor views his craft as a writer to be one in which he finds stress relief.
"It's something I love to do," Taylor said. "I didn't realize how much I loved it so much until just now, but I do."
Taylor intends to cast the widest net possible for garnering reader interest.
"It's for all kinds of generations and genres," Taylor said. "It's a book for everybody, I think."
Taylor's book "The Ultimate Truth: Echoes of the Past," is available on his website or through Amazon.
