1 person hit by car in Newcastle

A Newcastle Public Schools student was struck by a car Monday morning, according to the district.

Newcastle Police say officers responded shortly after 8 a.m. near Newcastle High School.

Newcastle Public Schools said the person who was struck and the person who struck them were both NPS students.

NPS said the student who was struck was transported to a local hospital, although their condition is unknown.
